That's right. The all-powerful project controller. I have the power to approve or disapprove purchases made by my team at work, based on how much budget we've got left for the year. Usually I get calls or e-mails requesting permission for expensive software licenses, or occasionally a color printer. Really big purchases, like buying new people and stuff like that, require someone else's approval. But I handle the day-to-day stuff. And really little purchases, like under $100, don't require anyone's OK, as long as you use approved vendors.
I think there are some people here who actually fear me and my power. I suppose that would include the timid person who just phoned me asking if it was OK to by some pencil lead.
You read that right.
Times are tough, but the Great and Mighty Project Controller said she could indeed go splurge on some pencil lead.
If she asked me for an eraser, though, I was going to tell her if she was more careful, she wouldn't make any mistakes and wouldn't need an eraser.
*giggling* my way through the lightening bolts and thunder. You are just too much some days. heh.

ahhhhh... All hail the power of the power of the purchase-approver!
Kinda silly, isn't it? I guess it's necessary, though. I'm glad they picked someone who has a sense of humor about it!

I'm so envious of your power. Embrace it.
